Clinton County restaurants inspected – Wilmington News Journal
The following information is obtained from the Clinton County Health Department and is compiled from inspection reports.
Violations are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations are more likely to contribute to food contamination, disease, or an environmental health hazard, including improper cooking of food or poor personal hygiene.

• Duchess Shoppe, 2495 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, November 10.
Critical: No verification available that employees know when to report illness. The hand washing sink contained a knife, pizza cutter, and towel that I moved so I could wash my hands. All hand washing sinks are reserved for hand washing. In the take-out cooler were two blueberry parfaits dated November 9th. the handy cookie stand, chocolate and peanut butter cookies were dated November 9. Half and half of the cream dispenser was not dated. In the cold room, the roast beef was undated, the salami in the Ziploc bag was undated.
Not critical: Employees who handled / made food had ponytail hair, but no hair retainers. The inside of the oven in the kitchen was dirty. Broken tile in front of the cool grab and go. Two broken cabinet doors (missing) under the coffeemakers. Boxes on the floor of the cold room. Trash can on the floor of the cold room.

• Burger King, 1607 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, November 9.
Critical: The inside edges and along the inside of the ice maker door are dirty. The inside of the ice cube dispensers of the soda machines is dirty. The French toast sticks, hash browns and sausage patties in the freezer within reach of the fryer were not frozen. The door does not close; water at the bottom of the unit and the unit temperature was 65 ° F. All products have been withdrawn and disposed of by the manager. Thank you. The freezer must be maintained / repaired before it is reused.
Not critical: paper towels stuffed under microwave / along counter to catch moisture. The exterior of the walk-in freezer in the back was dirty with black mold. The inside of the two microwaves in the kitchen was dirty. The counter behind the steamer / toaster is dirty. The interior of the prep sink, hand sink and 3-compartment sinks are dirty. All sinks should be properly cleaned to avoid possible cross contamination. The floor under the soda maker in the lobby has a floor leak. The floor behind the ice maker is dirty. The floors in the cold room around the door are dirty.

• Denver Elementary, 291 Lorish Ave., Wilmington, November 15.
Non-critical: Open soda can be found in the clean dishes area. The drink has been moved. Corrected. The kitchen exit door was not fully locked / closed (held open). Exterior openings of the facility should be sealed to prevent entry of flies / pests. Corrected.
• Little Caesar’s, 1334 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, November 9. Regular.
Non-critical: No one here who is a certified food protection manager. All facilities must have at least one certified person responsible for power.
• Snow Hill Country Club, 11093 SR 73, New Vienna, November 8.
Critical: Hot water unavailable. The responsible person said the water is heated on the stove for cleaning. Repair is underway for the water heater. Chili dated November 1 in the prep cooler. Person in charge rejected and corrected.
Not critical: Thermometer missing from keeping warm equipment. Fly Strip (control device) near 3 sinks. Mouse droppings observed in a corner behind the ice maker; monitor to determine if pest activity is past or present.
• Eagles Lodge, 141 E. Sugartree St., Wilmington, November 9.
Non-critical: No one here who is a certified food protection manager.
• Clinton-Massie Middle School, 2556 Lebanon Road, Clarksville, November 9.
Not critical: The dishwasher gauge is not reading the correct temperatures (not in good condition). Bulb not working in freezer.
• Clinton-Massie High School, 2556 Lebanon Road, Clarksville, November 9.
Not critical: Latex gloves found in the laundry room. The manager has been removed from the establishment.
• YMCA CM Prime Time Campaign, 2556 Lebanon Road, Clarksville, November 9.
Non-critical: Bundles of towels stored on the floor.
• Clinton-Massie Elementary, 2380 Lebanon Road, Clarksville, November 9.
Non-critical: Lightweight not working above the steam well table. The responsible person has stated that the bulb is on order for replacement. Ice accumulated in the walk-in freezer. The responsible person stated that a request for redress has been submitted.
