Dr. Sharrica Miller set to publish her new book in October 2022
Titled “Verses,” the book was published by Pure Thoughts Publishing, LLC and focuses on the author’s journey through foster care.
Each year, nearly 500,000 children are forcibly removed from their homes and placed in foster families with strangers. As adults, the majority struggle with drug use, homelessness, mental health issues and incarceration.

Published by Atlanta-based Dr. Marita Kinney, Pure Thoughts Publishing, LLC, “Verses” chronicles the remarkable life of Dr. Sharrica Miller, who spent 12 years of her childhood in foster care as a foster child. a heroin-addicted mother and a drug-dealing father before becoming a nationally recognized speaker, advocate and foster care researcher.
Part memoir, part self-help, “Verses: Life Lessons From Foster Care” is slated for release in October 2022. In this book, Dr. Miller recounts stories from his childhood and shares meaningful life lessons that can apply to anyone facing adversity.
Speaking of her early life challenges, Dr. Sharrica Miller says, “The early years of my life were chaotic and filled with instability. The foster family didn’t seem to care about me and my parents were too deep in the drug life to keep us in one place.
