It is inspired by real events experienced by the author as he set out to travel and expand his life experiences. The author, Eduardo Ríos Lasso, is actually an internal medicine doctor. Deep down in his being, he always knew that the combination of writing, creating and traveling made him incredibly happy.
The main character is Santiago, a 26-year-old Santiago fresh out of law school who has always dreamed of seeing the world, but his anxiety gets in the way. But one day, after years of saving, Santiago bravely buys a ticket to circumnavigate the globe. His parents think he’s crazy, but he takes a leap of faith and goes off on his own.
Meanwhile, santiago discovers that his best friend Laura, who played a crucial role in helping him organize the trip, cannot join him for part of the trip as they had planned because she is battling a recently diagnosed autoimmune disease. Will he regret his decision to leave her behind? Will their friendship survive or blossom into something more?
