LR Athletics mourns the loss of Nick De Lorme
Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics mourns the loss of a member of its staff. Nick de LormeAssociate Athletic Director for Compliance, died on Saturday July 23 after being diagnosed with cancer in June.
de Lorme joined the sports staff in August 2021 as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. His work overseeing NCAA compliance operations in support of LR student-athletes was vital to the entire campus. He also helped implement the strategic vision and plan for athletics as a member of the senior administrative leadership team. de Lorme came to LR from Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio, where he was assistant athletic director for compliance.
“Nick’s contributions to the athletic department and to the greater LR community have been significant,” said Kim Pate, Vice President for Athletics. “He showed tremendous commitment to supporting our coaches and student-athletes and was a talented sports administrator. He had an incredible impact on our entire LR athletics family, and he will be sorely missed.”
Information about Lorme’s services and opportunities to celebrate will be shared as they become available. Additionally, there is a journal in the main entrance of Grace Chapel about LR’s Hickory camps where members of the LR community can add their condolences to Lorme’s family.
