Mary Ann Stiles, JD is Vice President and General Counsel of CompCorrect, LLC. She was recently selected for inclusion in the 2nd edition of the Top 50 Fearless Leaders publication by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
While being selected for publication in the IAOTP’s Top 50 Fearless Leaders publication is an honor, only 50 of the world’s brightest, courageous, and inspiring professionals are selected for this accolade.
These special winners are carefully selected to share their stories of perseverance, resilience, passion and strength. Ms. Stiles has made an outstanding contribution to society and had an incredible impact on her industry. Ms. Stiles is a dynamic, results-oriented leader who has consistently demonstrated success in every role she has held throughout her extraordinary career. She is widely recognized in her field for having over four decades of experience as a practicing attorney and accomplished legal professional.
His areas of expertise include advocacy, politics, workers’ compensation advocacy, legal writing, labor law, public speaking, mediation, administrative, regulatory and governmental relations.
Mary Ann has an impressive repertoire of past positions. She worked as an associate for the nation’s largest minority and women-owned law firm, Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, PA From 1982 to 2012, Ms. Stiles ran her own law firm, Stiles , Taylor & Grace, PA Additionally, she has served as General Counsel for Associated Industries Insurance Company, Inc., Associated Industries Insurance Services, Inc., The Associated Industries Political Action Committee, Associated Industries of Florida, Special Counsel for Associated Industries of Florida, Vice President and Chief Lobbyist for the Associated Industries of Florida, Associate of Deschler, Reed & Crichfield, Federal Procurement Practices Subcommittee Intern through Senator Lawton Chiles of the U.S. Senate, and served as a legislative analyst for the Florida House of Representatives.
Prior to beginning her career, Ms. Stiles attended Hillsborough Community College and received her Associates of Arts in 1973. Continuing her education, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1975. To complete her education, Mary Ann obtained a doctorate in law. from the Anitoch School of Law in 1978 (now known as the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law).
Throughout her illustrious career, Mary Ann has received numerous awards and honors and has been featured in numerous publications as a much-loved figure in the legal industry. This year, Mary Ann will also be considered for the Empowered Woman of the Year award.
Ms. Stiles has already received the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021 and she was named Top Attorney of the Year for 2018 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Additionally, Ms. Stiles was inducted into Florida’s Workers Compensation Institute, Inc., Hall of Fame, and was honored as Top Florida Attorney in The Wall Street Journal, Best Lawyers, Florida Trend Magazine, Tampa Business Journal, Tampa Bay Magazine, and Florida Women-Led Businesses, among others. In 2017, she was featured in Who’s Who of Professional Women and was honored as one of America’s top female lawyers for many years. In 2016, she received the Legal Elite Award from Corporate America News. In 2015 he was named Tampa Workers’ Compensation Law-Employers’ Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers and in 2011 he was awarded the Golden Circle for Outstanding Alumnus of Florida State University. She received the illustrious Leroy Collins Outstanding Alumni from Hillsborough Community College and was named to her high school’s Wall of Fame, King High School in Tampa, Florida. Additionally, Ms. Stiles has been inducted to hold the American Bar Association’s College on Workers’ Compensation Fellowship since 2009. She has maintained her AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubble for more than two decades and has been named “Queen of Comp” by the Tampa Tribune. In 2018, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Marquis Who’s Who. She also served for several years on the board of directors of Lion Insurance Company.
In addition to her distinguished career, Ms. Stiles serves or has served on numerous boards of directors for various organizations. She previously served on the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay for several years and is a member of the advisory board of Larson’s Workers’ Compensation Law. She co-founded NWCDN in 2004 and was a board member, founding shareholder and chair of the advisory board of Platinum Bank of Brandon. Mary Ann was a member of the Workers’ Compensation Rules Committee for the State of Florida Department of Administrative Hearings, was a member of the Florida Workers’ Compensation Task Force, and a member of the Board of Directors and shareholder of Associated Reinsurance Brokers, Inc. Ms. Stiles is also a successful entrepreneur who has been owner and president of Styles by Stiles, shareholder and president of 42nd Street Café & Bistro, Fletcher’s Backstreet Grill, director of Eclipse, Inc., a PEO; and was a shareholder and director of Six Stars Development Company of Florida, Inc.
Looking back, Mary Ann attributes her success to her education and training, her perseverance, her staying active in her chosen field, workers’ compensation, and her passion for the law. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating, reading and travelling. For the future, it will continue to serve and advise its clientele, resolve disputes and protect the freedoms and rights of all, whether in administrative or legislative systems.
Ms. Stiles is currently working with a new start-up, CompCorrect, LLC in St. Petersburg, Florida, which has created an artificial intelligence program to help owners and employers navigate the maze of accident compensation. work with its employees and the insurance industry. The company has six patents pending on the program. The goal is to serve customers across the United States and is currently working to expand the program in the Southeastern United States.
