MutualOne Bank appoints Cobblestone executive as new COO

Kristin Carvalho has joined MutualOne Bank as president, chief operating officer and treasurer, Framingham Bank announced on Wednesday.

Carvalho has over three decades of experience in the financial sector. She most recently served as President, CEO and President of Cobblestone Management LLC., a credit risk management consulting firm based in the Northeast and New York. Previously, she was Chairman, Chief Executive and Director of Milford National Bank and Trust Co. for over 10 years until its merger in 2018.

Prior to Carvalho, Steven Sousa was chief operating officer and executive vice president of MutualOne, according to his LinkedIn profile, which still lists him as holding that position. The bank did not immediately respond to questions Thursday about Sousa’s role.

Carvalho, a doctoral candidate in business administration from the University of Rhode Island, earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UMass Dartmouth, an MBA from Bryant University in Rhode Island, and a master’s degree in banking and financial services from Suffolk University. from Boston.

MutualOne Bank operates three locations in Framingham and Natick. The bank has $756 million in local deposits, according to data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. This makes it the 14th largest bank in central Massachusetts.
